I would like to welcome all students, parents and
guardians to our Kindergarten Blog.
Through out the year, this blog will be a source of communication between
school and home. Information posted will explain some of the daily activities
and concepts being highlighted in our Kindergarten Community. All learning
tasks will be intentionally designed to establish an environment where students
are engaged in meaningful experiences that are developmentally appropriate. Students will be provided with opportunities
to investigate, explore their curiosity and apply problem solving strategies.
The Kindergarten Program Provides a secure environment that encourages risk-taking and that leads students to value themselves as capable, competent learners and active citizens." (Kindergarten Program Statement 2008)

We did our morning and afternoon message and introduced ourselves to each other

Vista Heights Virtue for the month of September is courtesy

Kaysan showed good manners by being polite to all his friends. He used please and thank you all afternoon.
Our principal Mrs. Traquair's Virtue Message: "Courtesy is being polite and having good manners. It is a gracious way of speaking and acting which gives others a feeling of being valued and respected. It is greeting others with respectful words or a smile. Saying “Please”, “Thank you”, “Excuse me”, “Hello”, “Goodbye”, “You’re welcome”, shows people you respect them and care about them. Courtesy is like a magnet. It makes you attractive to others. When you are courteous, you make requests instead of demands.
