Everyday the first thing we do is observe changes in our garden
We put ice in our Orchid... Ask me why?
What happened to the ice... Explain where it goes and what does the orchid do
to the melted water...
Ask me what changes did we see...
Ask me to point to the Basil and pepper
Our Kindergarten naturalists have been observing different signs of spring
Ask me to explain who is a naturalist?
We used our 5 senses and sat outside patiently... We saw three (3) birds and buds sprouting..
Feeling the roots.. We found a bird camouflaged.. Ask me to point to it
Visited our community garden to see if they had planted any vegetables..
listening to the birds.. We saw a few ground squirrels
Naturalists at work...
quietly going closer to observe the squirrel.. He went in from one burrow
and came out from the other
Students said, " These tunnels are connected."
We read the book,
Ask me if this is a fiction or a non-fiction book?
Look at the picture and explain
Ask me to tell you what we did Frirst, Then and Next..
We read,
We read this book and experimented with more seeds
Ruby said, " I can see a black and white pattern."
"They are smooth."
We read and discussed
some plants grow from seeds and some from bulbs..
We talked about what do plants needs to grow?
Ask me why we moved this plant container under the light.... explain
Scientists at work...
Making a hypothesis seems like the frog is sitting outside... it is an illusion
Ask me about it....
What did we observe..
Ask me about it
In Kindergarten we
Scientists investigating... Students were so excited when they discovered
They put the blue gel balls on the yellow table and they turned green
I Wonder Why? Explain...
We made some observations...
Ask me...
- they are soft and squishy
- smooth and they slip out of my hands
- they wiggle
- some are big and some are small ( how did that happen?)
-they absorbed more water
-changed colour when we mix blue and yellow
Ask me why we washed and sanitized them for centres...
We are excited about sharing our learning! Ask me about my day..
Thanks,
Mrs. Malik & Mrs. Queen
